8 Staten Island organizations receive $160K to benefit youth groups
The organizations that will receive the discretionary funding from the borough president’s office are the Boy Scouts; The Carl V. Bini Foundation in Rossville; Children’s Aid Society, New Brighton; Dr. Theodore Atlas Foundation in West Brighton; Emergency Children’s Help Organization, Charleston; Empowerment Zone in Clifton; Global Village in Port Richmond, and the Jewish Community Center.

“This event’s main goal was to give the community empowerment, self-efficacy in preparing parents and their children for the school year,” explained Jaimita Haskell, Program Director for Beacon PS 18 and UAU.
