Jamari Terrell Williams Act of Kindness Scholarship Application

The Annual Jamari Terrell Williams Act of Kindness Scholarship is presented by Dr. Theodore (Teddy) Atlas Jr. Foundation

This scholarship is given in honor of the late Jamari Terrell Williams, who was an honor roll student, community helper, church usher, athlete, and dancer.

Two high school seniors who have demonstrated service to their school, church, and their community will receive scholarships. To apply for this scholarship applicants must

also meet the following requirements:
 a GPA of at least 3.0 and above
 Documented participation in service projects
 The completion of a one page essay 500 – 1000 words
 Letter of recommendation from teacher, school counselor or minister

A completed application for the  Act of Kindness Scholarship along with letters of recommendation from a teacher, school counselor, or minister should be submitted to moniqueydavis@yahoo.com or using this form.

Students applying for this scholarship should answer one of the essay questions below with their own personal opinions. The scholarship committee will review all applications and rank them based on grades, community involvement, and the essay questions.

ESSAY QUESTIONS

1. As a high school senior, what act of kindness have you performed during the past six months? Describe your actions and what motivated you to perform an act of kindness.

2. What can high school students do to encourage their classmates to perform acts of kindness?

3. Describe a situation you witnessed when a student was being bullied by another student in your school.

4. As a high school senior, what do feel you can do to reduce bullying in your school? How can school administrators help students who feel bullied?
